Designing a Multi-Appointment Management Feature for Medical Office Efficiency

Overview

I led the end-to-end design of a  multi-appointment scheduling feature for an enterprise customer transitioning from a competitor’s EMR to ours. The customer needed a feature that alerted medical office assistants (MOAs) when patients had multiple appointments on the same day and allowed them to quickly update appointment statuses.

Problem

An enterprise customer requested that we fill a feature gap in our EMR. The challenge was to design a solution that seamlessly integrated into our EMR while addressing the customer’s needs and easing their transition.

Approach

By gaining a deep understanding of the client’s needs and existing workflow, we delivered a solution that would not only matched, but improved upon their previous experience.

Feedback

We’re very happy. This is even better than what we had in our previous EMR.
